Our Student Engagement Survey is a powerful tool that helps you measure and understand student sense of belonging, student perceptions of teaching and learning, sense of engagement, and other factors known to affect learning outcomes. Our anonymous survey provides individual schools with a roadmap to improve student outcomes and increase student engagement by making student voice visible.

Each license allows you to survey up to two times during the 2019-20 school year with up to 2,500 participants per survey.

The Engagement Survey is an online survey designed to be delivered to students from grades 4-6 and 7-12. Your results are available in multiple formats, including printable PDF reports and interactive charts.

Know your impact

The Engagement Survey is more than just an assessment tool. It gives educators and school leaders evidence of their impact. This means you have the best possible information about where to go next in both the teaching process and in school improvement planning. The Engagement Survey measures areas like social-emotional learning, physical health and well-being, student engagement, and other outcomes related to academic success. In order to ensure validity and reliability, each question in the survey relates to one or more measure, allowing school leaders to understand different aspects of the same underlying theme. The Engagement Survey is completely anonymous, protecting student privacy and ensuring the most accurate and authentic survey responses.

More than just an online survey

The OurSCHOOL Survey is a powerful evaluation tool that provides a total solution for measuring, assessing, and reporting insights on your school both during the year as well as year over year. It helps you to set quantifiable goals, track progress, and share your success with your school community.

The majority of students can complete this survey in 40 - 45 minutes.

Each Survey License comes with the support of our newly formed Engagement Team, which combines extensive classroom teaching and school leadership experience with deep knowledge of the research and analysis underpinning OurSCHOOL. With their combined knowledge and experience they can support schools to use perception data as evidence to impact school growth. The Engagement Team can help you prepare for the survey as well as debrief and analyze your survey results.

Before the survey

  • Help to determine how OurSCHOOL survey measures support specific school and division goals, allowing you to set baselines and targets while monitoring your impact on student outcomes,

  • Assist you in selecting measures to gather the most meaningful evidence to target interventions and focus your resources and efforts,

  • Create new custom questions that are actionable and capture evidence unique to your school community, and

  • Offer suggestions on existing custom questions to demonstrate how drill-downs can capture the best possible data.

After the survey

  • A one-on-one phone call or screen share to review your results and interpret what they mean, or

  • NEW! A Data Deep Dive interactive session, a workshop designed to help your school coordinators and teams:

    • understand and interpret data and reports,
